The 2022 offseason for the New England Patriots wasn’t that special, but here are the team’s top three moves since the 2021 season ended.

The 2021 New England Patriots were a team filled with an insane amount of free agency signings.  Last offseason, the Patriots spent a ton of money trying to rebuild their team a couple years after Tom Brady left.

It did pay off a bit, as they went 10-7 and clinched a playoff spot, falling to the Buffalo Bills in the Wild Card round.

However, 2022 wasn’t as kind.  The team simply did not have nearly as much money to spend in free agency and made a couple questionable moves with trades and draft picks.

The team did make a few very good moves, though.  De facto General Manager Bill Belichick knows what he’s doing, even if the Patriots didn’t make headlines this offseason.

Three best moves in offseason for the New England Patriots: Re-signing Trent Brown for pennies

One of the best moves for the Patriots this offseason was re-signing now left tackle Trent Brown to a two year deal, $22 million deal that contains just $4 million in guarantees.

Brown, who can play both tackle positions, has looked very good at left tackle so far during training camp.

Still just 29, Brown is someone who could end up solidifying the left tackle position in New England for years.

Trent Brown signed a big deal with the Raiders a few seasons ago, but that was a massive failure and put a lot of unwanted attention on Brown as someone who perhaps just wasn’t that good.

Now finding himself back in New England, Brown looks like himself again.  The 6’8″, 360 pound monster should help keep Mac Jones clean for years to come.
