Patriots Training Camp: Key Notes From Day One

As the Patriots return from the offseason, all eyes are on them as lingering questions continue. Will day one give any answers?
Training camp has finally arrived and the excitement from not only the fans but also the team could easily be felt.
The Patriots came out with a lot of energy on their first day back, as all eyes were focused on trying to get a hint of how the team would operate this season.
Now that day one has concluded, some details stood out most:
DeVante Parker is heavily involved early with the offense with much excitement from the crowd in attendance
DeVante Parker managed back-to-back 5-yard touchdowns. First over rookie Marcus Jones. Then over rookie Jack Jones. (Mac Jones was the QB both times).

Welcome to the NFL, young guns.
DeVante Parker just made a nice catch through contact right by the bleachers. He turned to the fans and started pumping them up, second time today he’s done that. Drew a big applause.

Big day during red zone work for DeVante Parker. Had three TDs, mostly by boxing out the CB. Would expect him to show out in a red zone-heavy day. #Patriots

Nelson Agholor said to have had “catch of the day”
Nelson Agholor with probably the catch of the day over Malcolm Butler in the corner of the end zone. High-pointed it. Sparked a big celebration from Mac Jones.

Nelson Agholor just went up to grab a corner fade over Malcolm Butler, and toe tapped in the back corner. Mac Jones came running up to him yelling to celebrate.

Young players, including rookies, made some memorable plays

Clear emphasis from Patriots offensive players today that they’re trying to play fast to put stress on defenses. Scheme could help that. But you could see it pretty clearly between snaps. Lots of sprinting from the huddle to the line of scrimmage.
