Three reasons the Patriots could impress in 2022: Mac Jones explodes in year two

I think a year two breakout for Mac Jones is inevitable.  The question, to me, is just how good he can be in year two.

Jones is roughly the 18th best quarterback in the NFL right now.

Could Jones creep up to the tier with the likes of Matt Ryan, Kirk Cousins, and Ryan Tannehill–that 10th-15th range?

Mac Jones’ year two performance for the Patriots is going to be a huge reason for the entire team’s performance.  I do think the addition of DeVante Parker is going to help, and I do not think the team not having a gamebreaker on offense is going to hurt them much.  In some ways, the wide receiver situation is overblown.

A room that features Parker, Jakobi Meyers, Kendrick Bourne, and Nelson Agholor is extremely deep and could force defenses to spread themselves thin to ensure that they’ve got the receivers contained as much as possible.

Also, what if we get a breakout season from Damien Harris, Rhamondre Stevenson, or both?

The team does have the personnel with the potential to be great, which only helps Mac Jones.  I also think their offensive line will be fine.  Losing Shaq Mason and Ted Karras might hurt a bit, but the team is already expected to play Trent Brown, David Andrews, Isaiah Wynn, and Mike Onwenu.

I count four reliable offensive linemen, which is a much better situation than other teams.
