Recently retired wide receiver Cameron Meredith took to social media on Tuesday to answer some questions from his followers. While most of them pertained to his time in Chicago, where he recorded over 1,000 yards and four touchdowns, or his newfound music career, he did talk about his brief stint in Foxborough.

Meredith spent part of 2019 training camp with the New England Patriots before being placed on the PUP list on Aug. 31. He was then released on Oct. 1.

On Twitter, he responded to my question regarding his time in New England. Just like his Patriots career, which only lasted 60 days, his answer was brief.

"“Short, but sweet.”"

While Meredith did not delve deeper into the “sweet” aspect of being with the Patriots, he did name drop a certain Patriots quarterback.

"“S/O my guy @TomBrady made it fun.”"

Now, I was curious. How did Brady make it fun? Over the years, there have been dozens of reports on how laid back the legendary gunslinger is behind closed doors. I needed more.

While Meredith was mainly answering questions on Twitter, he also opened the floor up to some questions on Instagram. One comment from Patriots fan page @GilletteNation cleared up the questions about Brady. GilletteNation asked the former Bears and Saints pass catcher his favorite TB12 memory.

"“me tryna convince him I can score 8 pts 3reb 3 assist if I played in an entire NBA game..couldn’t sway him tho.”"

Who knows if Meredith could compete in an NBA game, but it certainly is a fun idea to think of. Props to Brady for not caving and holding Meredith to a normal standard.

More athletes should do these social media “press conferences” with their followers so we can all learn a little bit more about the person behind the player, especially a guy like Meredith who only played three seasons in the NFL and had multiple stops, crossing paths with some of the most famous figures in the game.
