4 Tom Brady stats you won’t believe about Patriots legend

3. Tom Brady Whomps the Class of 2000 Over 40
This might stun you, but Brady’s career numbers have a slight edge over Giovanni Carmazzi’s.
Now that we’ve got that over with, it’s worth remembering that “The Brady 6” included Chad Pennington, who carved out a serviceable semi-star career with the New York Jets and Miami Dolphins, as well as Marc Bulger, who ultimately piled up a lot of passing yards late in his career leading St. Louis Rams offenses in the dome.
None of that mattered to Brady, though, who exceeded the combined career wins and yardage totals of Pennington, Bulger, Carmazzi and the other three after the age of 40.
Past that mark, Brady won 70 games (including the postseason) and passed for 26,893 yards. For his entire career, Pennington — again, a totally viable quarterback who could lead you to the playoffs and won the AFC East with the Dolphins during Brady’s reign — won 44 games and passed for 17,823 yards … ever.
Brady, between the ages of 40-44, exceeded both of those numbers by stunning margins. Pennington had 11 years. Brady had five.
Carmazzi, who Brady’s hometown Niners took? Zero career wins, and a 3-7, 19-yard line in the 2000 Pro Football Hall of Fame Game against Tommy and the Pats. Oof.
