The New England Patriots and Buffalo Bills will meet in the Week 13 edition of Monday Night Football.

With the 8-4 Patriots holding a half-game lead over the 7-4 Bills in the AFC East, this matchup has huge playoff implications. Given the stakes and the talent that will be on display, this has game of the year potential written all over it.

The Bills are currently three-point favorites, according to WynnBET, so there clearly isn’t much separating these teams.

If the game was being played at Gillette Stadium, it’s reasonable to assume the spread would be flipped in the Patriots’ favor. After all, playing at home usually gives teams a three-point edge in the betting world.

In other words, New England will take every advantage they can get.

Luckily for them, the expected forecast for Monday night in Orchard Park was made for smash-mouth football.

Get a load of this, Patriots fans.

The forecast for Monday Night Football should give the Patriots an advantage over the Bills.

You know Bill Belichick’s eyes lit up reading that weather report. Below freezing temperatures, winds up to 25 MPH and a 30% chance of snow?

Let’s hope Damien Harris, Rhamondre Stevenson and Brandon Bolden took it easy in practice this week, because they’re about to be run into the ground.

The Bills own the sixth-best run defense in the NFL at 96.6 yards per game, but they were gashed by Jonathan Taylor to the tune of 185 yards and four touchdowns on 5.8 YPC in similar weather conditions just two weeks ago.

While Harris, Stevenson and Bolden aren’t quite on Taylor’s level, each of them embrace contact, so you have to think the Bills defense will want no part of tackling them, whether it be in the trenches or the open field.

Expect more broken tackles from the Pats’ running backs.

Though the forecast should no doubt benefit New England’s offense, it should also play to their defense’s favor, too.

After all, the Bills have no idea how to run the football. Devin Singletary is their leading rusher and he hasn’t even broken the 500-yard mark on the season. It also says a lot that Josh Allen is second on the team in rushing.

Speaking of Allen, this probably isn’t the night to ask him to drop back to pass 40 times. The Pro Bowl quarterback has already matched his interception total from last season (10), and seven of those have come in the last four games.

Fans and analysts alike have had a tough time determining who has the advantage in this heavyweight bout, but the weather forecast could swing things in the Patriots’ favor given it plays right into their brand of football.
