The New England Patriots‘ defense turned in yet another stellar performance in their 36-13 win over the Tennessee Titans on Sunday.

Unfortunately, the dominant outing will likely get swept under the rug given the Titans were without their top three offensive weapons in Derrick Henry, AJ Brown and Julio Jones

But we’re not about to let that happen because Mac Jones was magnificent yet again, too. Sure, the Patriots’ run defense was surprisingly ineffective. Giving up 279 yards on the ground to Tennessee with Henry on the shelf is a terrible look, regardless of whether it impacted the final score.

However, you can get away with that when you allow fewer than 100 passing yards and win by more than 20 points. So it shouldn’t surprise anyone that JC Jackson played a big role in the Titans’ struggles to move the ball through the air. Even more refreshing was the star cornerback hurling shots at Tennessee’s inability to find a rhythm on offense.

Patriots cornerback JC Jackson taking shots at the Titans was awesome.

You really do love to see it. Just like how he called out the Chargers. More of this! Jackson’s energy is exactly what this team needs. For the game, Ryan Tannehill finished 11-of-21 for 93 yards and an interception. If not for a dropped INT from Kyle Van Noy — Dontrell Hilliard ripped off a 68-yard touchdown run on the very next play — the Titans would’ve been hard-pressed to score more than 10 points on Sunday.

Bill Belichick wasn’t too happy that the Patriots were bullied in the running game, but Jackson wasn’t to blame for that. In fact, the legendary head coach couldn’t help but gloat about Jackson’s knack for creating turnovers.

“You leave any trash laying around, he’s going to pick it up,” Belichick told reporters after the win.

Speaking of forced turnovers, Jackson added two more to his 2021 resume. In the third quarter, the former undrafted talent executed a perfectly-timed punch to wipe out a big gain from Titans running back D’Onta Foreman. Less than five minutes later, the Patriots scored a TD to open up a 26-13 lead.

In the fourth quarter, Jackson, albeit with a little help from Devin McCourty, picked off Tannehill in the end zone for his seventh interception of the season to help put the game on ice. His 24 interceptions are now tied for the third-most of any player through his first four seasons since 1970.

It’s clear Tannehill planned to avoid Jackson in the passing game, and he STILL managed to come away with an INT.

Luckily for Jackson, he’ll get the chance to back up his trash talk in Week 13 when the Patriots travel to Orchard Park to face a Bills team that is as one dimensional as it gets in terms of dropping back to pass and having zero running game.
