The New England Patriots and Atlanta Falcons will face off Thursday night in a primetime battle that’ll likely only resemble Super Bowl LI when you check the win column.

There’s no Tom Brady here. Julian Edelman is gone, too. On the Falcons’ side, in fact, there seems to be…count ’em up, yeah, looks like one offensive weapon, and his name is Kyle PittsThat’s certainly no way to build up a 28-3 lead of any kind.

Rest assured, though, that no matter what the on-field product looks like, Pats Nation is going to let its minds wander back to that fateful night every time they watch Matt Ryan drop back for one or two seconds too long, seemingly begging for a life-changing strip sack.

As those thoughts creep into all of our heads, Julian Edelman will be right there with us.

Though his vantage point looks a little different this time around, Edelman will be planted in the same position, wrapped around a leather chair instead of contorting through the air.

Any fingertip catches he makes in this one will be of the remote as it plummets toward the couch cushions.

Patriots WR Julian Edelman posted a hilarious Super Bowl meme before the Falcons Thursday Night Football game.

You…might remember Edelman from Super Bowl LI, even though he didn’t do quite enough to be named MVP of that game. On that fateful night in Houston, the diminutive wideout caught five balls on 13 targets for 87 yards, though one of the snags on the game-tying drive is more memorable than most.

The diving catch Edelman made on the deflection, clustered in a bonafide mosh pit of Falcons defenders, might very well be the best play in NFL history, in terms of degree of difficulty and historical import.

You can forgive the wideout if he misses his NFL career tonight more than most evenings. The Patriots are an absolute machine right now. Mac Jones is running through any and all defenses that dare challenge him. Even Jakobi Meyers is catching touchdowns! And now the Falcons want to get involved? The…Falcons?!

Enjoy your Thursday evening, Pats Nation. Jules sure will.
