Patriots fans need to see Mac Jones’ pictures as a ‘child model’
By Adam Weinrib
I mean…I mean…Patriots fans, you’re going to have to trust me when I say this headline is not an exaggeration whatsoever.
You need to see these photographs of your new star QB Mac Jones as a child model and you need to see them immediately.
Fans in New England have fallen in love with Jones amid the leaf-peeping this autumn, and rightly so. Exiting the draft, he seemed uniquely poised, and though his ceiling wasn’t terribly high, his excellence at Alabama indicated that Bill Belichick could win with him.
Perhaps not this soon and this spectacularly following a 2-4 start, though. In recent weeks, the offense has opened up around him, leading to an upset victory over the Chargers and a phenomenal drubbing of the Cleveland Browns this Sunday, leading many to believe Jones has a Wheaties Box in his immediate future.
If so, he can take some tips from…a younger version of himself for the cover art.
Turns out, Jones admitted on Monday that he was a child model who theoretically starred in a few commercials back in the day. While those haven’t been unearthed yet, NESN did find a pair of the professional shots via Touchdown Alabama, the premier Crimson Tide magazine. They are…somethin’ special.
Patriots QB Mac Jones’ childhood model photos are really something.
Show of hands, who’s lied about being a “childhood model” to impress someone at some point? Joke’s on the doubters; Jones has the receipts.
Jones has certainly gotten better at throwing the ball downfield these past few weeks, but…there’s no Hail Mary as powerful as the “Here Are My Childhood Advertisements for a Baby Country Club”. Talk about getting comfortable in the offense.
Be prepared to see these photos on plenty of high-profile CBS broadcasts moving forward as the Patriots garner more and more national prominence. If a playoff run follows this regular season sprint this year, Jones’ tennis racket photo could end up being the new “Matthew Stafford and Clayton Kershaw Were Childhood Friends”.
Because Jones is no longer a “game manager”. He’s no longer a greenhorn rookie. He’s defied the expectations of many a hater from around the league. Some Jets folks really thought he was a silver spooned country club kid without the skills.
Turns out? He’s a model quarterback, in more ways than one.
