Yup, we’re still wondering where JC Jackson’s contract extension from the New England Patriots is. Tick. Tock.

An even better question, however, is why ZERO teams out there challenged the second-round tender the Pats placed on Jackson this past offseason.

He’s clearly worth that kind of draft pick compensation plus a lucrative new deal.

Once again, someone out there letting the Patriots get away with murder when they should have been forced to commit big money to one of the best cornerbacks in the NFL.

And, yes, that’s without Stephon Gilmore on the roster. Many figured a lot of Jackson’s success came due to Gilmore’s presence, but ever since the All-Pro’s injury and subsequent trade to the Carolina Panthers, Jackson has answered the call as the Patriots’ No. 1 cornerback.

If you haven’t seen many of the highlights, just check out his new Instagram handle. You’ll understand.

Patriots star JC Jackson’s new Instagram handle is awesome.

@mr.int … short, sweet, and tells you everything you need to know. Jackson’s been an interception machine ever since, well, his college days (his one year at Maryland, he led the team in that category).

But ever since going UNDRAFTED back in 2018, he leads the NFL with 22 picks, which includes five this year and nine in 2020, which finished only second to Dolphins star Xavien Howard. In 2021, Jackson leads all defensive backs with 12 passes defended.

Mind you, this is on a defense that wasn’t expected to be the usual “Belichick-coached” beast it’s been pre-2020. Jackson has now proven his worth and abilities alongside some of the best in the game and all by himself.

That warrants all the cockiness he desires to exude, and if there’s anyone out there willing to challenge him for the Mr. INT moniker, then go ahead. We’re not sure who comes close, aside from Howard, who has two more career interceptions than Jackson but with two more NFL seasons under his belt.

Jackson will be turning 26 next week, and by this time next year he’ll be one of the highest-paid players at his position. The Patriots played the waiting game last offseason thinking it’d work out in their favor, but his performance through the first nine games only upped Jackson’s price.

Belichick can’t let Mr. INT hit free agency. That’s playing a dangerous game.
