2. Devin Asiasi

Devin Asiasi was drafted by New England in the third round back in 2020 and was believed to be a future weapon for this offense. Two years into his career, he’s been far from that and has almost completely disappeared.

In his rookie season, Asiasi played in nine games and was targeted seven times, hauling in just two catches for 39 yards and one touchdown, which is the highlight of his career.

The Patriots hoped that the Week 17 touchdown would provide some sort of momentum heading into his second season, but after six games in year two with New England, Asiasi has yet to play in a game after being a healthy scratch for four straight weeks.

After struggling to contribute last year when New England was shallow at the tight end position, there certainly isn’t a role for Asiasi with the additions of Jonnu Smith and Hunter Henry, the latter of whom is catching on in a big way. Asiasi also doesn’t have much trade value, but there’s been loose chatter about him being dealt at the deadline.

He’s either gone before Nov. 2 or once the season ends.
