Patriots: Tom Brady should unfriend Julian Edelman after his latest suggestion

Did Julian Edelman like playing for the New England Patriots? Does he like Tom Brady? Why do we ask? Because we’re getting mixed signals.

He recently went on an angry Patriots rant after ripping the team earlier in the season.

Sprinkled in there was his proclamation that he was rooting for the Pats to beat Brady’s Buccaneers in TB12’s return to Foxborough.

Is Edelman just … another hot take machine that went from grinding on the gridiron to trolling us on television? When you’re calling out Belichick and rooting against Brady, it sure feels that way.

But the former Patriots receiver’s latest take might have fully blown his cover.

Perhaps now it’s time he joins Undisputed with Skip Bayless or First Take with Stephen A. Smith. There’s no coming back from this one.

Julian Edelman says former Patriots QB Tom Brady should play for the Jets.

In some sick way, we do see where Edelman is coming from. Brady went from the institution that was the dynastic New England Patriots to a Tampa Bay team that was a Super Bowl-winning quarterback away from championship contention. We’re by no means taking the GOAT status away from Brady, but maybe one disadvantaged situation?

Then again, Edelman took it too far. The Jets? The Jets?!?! The division rival the Patriots have beaten 12 straight times? The laughingstock of the NFL? We could turn back the clock and gift the Jets with Brady, Lawrence Taylor, Jerry Rice and Deion Sanders in their primes and they’d still miss the playoffs. The franchise is cursed.

Even if New York decided to wake up one day and start making the right decisions, they’d all turn out horribly wrong. That’s just the way it goes. We don’t make the rules.

What kind of friend wishes this upon another? Or even suggests it?! All this tells anybody is that Edelman wants to see Brady’s illustrious career go down in flames.

Wait a second … maybe this is part of Edelman’s grand plan. Pit Brady and Belichick against each other two times a year and watch them both crash and burn. Then Jules carries the torch as the top-rated fan-favorite Patriot.

Touché.
