3 Mac Jones moments vs Cowboys that should have fans believing

2. Mac Jones’ toughness

One of the most memorable moments in the game was one that made fans jump out of their seats.

In the second quarter, Cowboys defensive end Randy Gregory came off the edge and hit the rookie quarterback so hard that Jones’ feet were in the air, and the ball was on the ground. A real “Welcome to the NFL” moment.

A moment like that could’ve startled the young Jones; instead, he expressed it wasn’t even the hardest he’s been hit and said that’s what makes football fun.

Thats a sentiment Jones has expressed before and the type of mentality you want in your quarterback. Of course you don’t want them taking unnecessary punishment, but you don’t want them to fold when they encounter a little contact, either.

Patriots fans don’t have to worry about that. After the hit on Sunday, Jones picked himself up off the ground and went back onto the field fearless. He wasn’t in the pocket with happy feet or dropping his eyes to look for pressure. He remained calm, and hung in the pocket to deliver accurate passes throughout the second-half comeback.
