Patriots: Tom Brady and Gisele tweets taunted Pats Nation with trade idea
By Adam Weinrib
New England Patriots fans have moved on from Tom Brady and Gisele.
Two beautiful decades. Six rings. Couldn’t have done it without him. But those two dynasties are dead and buried, and we’re collectively on Mac Jones’ train.
That being said…all it took was an innocent and completely-unrelated-to-football tweet from Brady to send his entire family into a spin — as well as the entire fan base.
At 2:00 PM EST on Saturday, Oct. 16, TB12 was presumably watching some east coast college football and getting wistful. Or maybe he was just sitting on the beach, realizing it was mid-October and he was in the midst of an incongruous image. Maybe he’s just becoming a late-career global warming advocate who wants to see the earth survive and thrive until his 140th birthday, something he’s clearly intending to live to (and maybe even play to?).
Whatever the cause, Brady sent a simple tweet Saturday afternoon.
He misses the fall while sitting in Florida. Interesting, sure, but we never would’ve noticed if his wife hadn’t quote-tweeted.
Tom Brady wants to return to the “fall”…and the New England Patriots?
Don’t read into it, don’t read into it, don’t read into it…
And we wouldn’t have…if Gisele hadn’t gone ahead and read into it.
What the…hell, Gisele! We were over this entire thing! Completely. We’d reduced the number of Tom Brady jerseys in our daily attire rotation down to two, from six.
The “most awkward moment” of the year had already passed. Brady made his glorious return to New England, nearly lost to young Mac Jones, but beat him at the horn thanks to some beneficial calls.
And now THIS?! We’re thinking trade? The entire family is thinking trade?
Luckily (?), Brady himself weighed in and announced his own confusion.
Of course, we’re sure this was all coordinated. Some NFT marketing campaign. Or maybe Brady is the new Sam Adams “Your Cousin From Boston”.
Everything this guy does is calculated. No way it was a family-wide accident.
Maybe this is what he and Bill Belichick discussed during their 20-minute private meeting a few weeks ago.
Not a trade. Just this series of tweets. Perfecting the wording and such.
