Patriots Game Today: Patriots vs Texans injury report, spread, over/under, schedule, Live Stream, TV channel
By Mike Luciano
The New England Patriots might be 1-3 on the season, but they are a Damien Harris fumble and a slightly errant Nick Folk field goal away from potentially being 3-1.
With a playoff spot still up for grabs, look for New England to bounce back after an emotionally charged loss to Tom Brady.
The Patriots will square off against former New England executive Nick Caserio and the Houston Texans, who are also 1-3.
While Houston looked competitive with Tyrod Taylor, an injury forced rookie quarterback Davis Mills to step into the spotlight, and he responded by laying an egg against the Bills last week.
New England has a perfect chance to get back on the right track against Houston, as this rebuilding team could be what Bill Belichick needs to get the bad taste from last week out of his mouth.
Will they move to 2-3 with an easy win? Or will the Texans pull off what would be one of the biggest upsets of the season?
Patriots Injury Report vs Texans Week 5
In addition to losing James White for the season, the Pats were dealt another gut punch when a torn pec sidelined defensive end Henry Anderson for the year. With players like Isaiah Wynn and JC Jackson having been a fixture on the injury report over the last few weeks, this isn’t good news for the squad.
Patriots vs Texans Odds, Spread, Over/Under & Betting Pick Week 5
Per WynnBET’s NFL odds, the Patriots are expected to win convincingly in Texas. New England has -110 odds to cover a huge -9.5 spread on the road. With New England at -430 (bet $430 to win $100) on the moneyline and Houston at + 340 (bet $100 to win $340), only Brady and the Buccaneers against Miami are a bigger favorite in Week 5.
The over-under in this game is 39.5, meaning that while Vegas expects the Pats to win convincingly, they don’t anticipate Houston doing much to match the New England offense.
Patriots vs Texans Prediction
New England may have to go up against a Lovie Smith defense that has been problematic at times, but it shouldn’t be too difficult to crack. As long as Mac Jones doesn’t turn the ball over, the Patriots should be able to move it downfield regularly.
Even if Jones has another iffy day throwing the ball, the defense should be able to carry the Patriots to a win. If Belichick was able to make Zach Wilson struggle to such a shocking degree, he should probably be able to impact Mills in the same fashion, leading to a Pats victory.
