The New England Patriots were unable to overcome a pair of costly fumbles — the second of which came with just 3:30 remaining in the fourth quarter — and dropped Sunday’s season opener to the Dolphins.

The good news is that the Pats will have an excellent chance to rebound in Week 2 against the lowly Jets, who also dropped  their Week 1 game, falling to former quarterback Sam Darnold and the Panthers, 19-14.

Despite abysmal offensive line play, No. 2 overall pick Zach Wilson had a strong debut, going 20-of-37 for 258 yards and two touchdowns to one interception.

However, we all know that Bill Belichick feasts against rookie signal callers, so expect the Patriots to open as big favorites.

Patriots vs Jets Prediction Week 2

It would be sacrilegious to bet against the Patriots when they play a rookie QB in the Belichick era, so you won’t catch us in the act. While Wilson showed promise in his debut, his offensive line was dominated by Carolina’s middling front seven. Throw in the fact that Jets star left tackle Mekhi Becton suffered a sprained MCL in the game, and New England’s defense should really have a field day.

Patriots win comfortably, 27-17.
