1. Mac finds the end zone

Jones’ first touchdown pass in the NFL was a beauty. On 2nd and goal with his team trailing, Jones had to deal with former Patriots linebacker Elandon Roberts screaming up the middle almost unblocked.

Not panicked at all by this pressure, Jones was able to get the ball out quickly, finding Agholor for the first of what should be many touchdown passes at the NFL level. While most rookie quarterbacks would’ve gladly taken the Roberts sack, Jones continued to show how accurate and cool he can be under pressure.

The Patriots should be pleased with Mac Jones’ guts.

He’s not doing this against a bunch of also-rans who will be selling insurance in a few years. Miami is an elite defense with Pro Bowl players like Byron Jones and Xavien Howard overseeing the secondary. Jones was one of the best performers in the AFC last week given the circumstances.

The Pats got dealt a home L against a division rival when Jones out-played Tagovailoa, and that stings. However, when you have a rookie quarterback that looks this composed from the jump, that’s a great sign.
