Without belaboring the obvious, Brady was spectacular acting as his own offensive coordinator once he finally got Tampa’s coaching staff to buy in. At no time was this more dramatic than at halftime last Dec. 20 versus the Atlanta Falcons when genius control freak coach Bruce Arians and his brilliant offensive coordinator Byron Leftwich were getting obliterated17-0. At that point, the Tampa brain trust was so desperate they let the GOAT run the show.

“If we can play 30 minutes like that, why can’t we play 60?” Arians asked the press after the game. If you don’t want to hear the answer, don’t ask the question, Bruce.

In one of the most entertaining segments ever for ESPN’s Get Up! talk show the next morning, Ryan Clark and Rex Ryan provided some biting commentary.

Clark did not mince words.

"“It’s very simple. For the first 30 minutes, this is Bruce Arians’ team. In the second 30 minutes, it’s Tom Brady’s team. There’s your answer, Bruce.”"

Coach Ryan pounded the point home further.

"“You have Tom Brady. Act like it! He’s got to be going ‘for the love of God, Bruce, what are we doing?’ When Peyton Manning went to Denver, they let Peyton Manning run the show. You have the greatest of all time! Just say, ‘Dude, whatever it is from now on, you take it, my friend! It’s all you!'”"

Amazingly, whether or not Arians was watching Get Up! that morning, he seems to have taken the advice. From then on, Brady was allowed to run the show, and the wins piled up, culminating in yet another Super Bowl win for TB12.

Brady could also qualify for Executive of the Year as de facto assistant general manager, recruiting all 22 starters to return to Tampa Bay for 2021. Has that ever happened before? Not after a team has won a Super Bowl!

Now they’re in a good position to repeat.
