The New England Patriots are having a field day with the Philadelphia Eagles on Thursday night, who probably wish this was all part of some sick, sadistic, non-televised joint practice.

Nope. This is real life. Even though Jalen Hurts was replaced at the last second by Joe Flacco, this still counts.

Several Patriots standouts, from Cam Newton and Mac Jones under center to the swarming Matt Judon on the D-line, have shown out in this one, but perhaps the most impressive singular move of the day came from diminutive running back JJ Taylor.

Taylor, a second-year back who’s probably going to emulate James White more and more as his reps increase this season, shook Philly out of their shoes on this nasty cutback.

The Patriots are working on a shutout on the road, which obviously means everything’s been working at the margins.

In other words: all eyes weren’t on Taylor when this contest kicked off, but they obviously are now.

Patriots RB JJ Taylor is carving out a role for himself with a nasty juke.

Yeah, that Eagles defender might be angling for a new shoe deal after this one. This pair of loafers isn’t going to cut it.

In limited duty last season, Taylor piled up 110 rushing yards on 23 attempts, though he only caught one pass for 4 yards. As White moves into a mentorship role and Taylor continues to show off handles like this, expect that number to increase drastically for the remarkable 5-6 gnat.
