2. WR Nelson Agholor

Agholor clearly needed a fresh start, as the fans in Philadelphia were booing him if he didn’t record 150 yards and two touchdowns in every game. Agholor got his reset back out west with the Raiders, and the USC Alum set a new career-high for single-season receiving yards, which he used to earn a hefty new deal in New England.

While Smith and Henry will be the two featured receiving options, Agholor might actually have a hard time in New England, as he will get most of the attention from top cornerbacks…as things currently stand. It goes without saying that if the Patriots end up getting Jones, Agholor will be able to stick in the slot and dominate.

Nelson Agholor wouldn’t face No. 1 cornerbacks if Julio Jones joined the Patriots.

Agholor is the perfect No. 2 wide receiver. He’s not an explosive enough athlete to handle WR1 duties, but he is quick enough to get open underneath and reel off some big plays. Asking him to take on some of the best DBs in the game is simply foolish, but Jones could help eliminate that problem before it ever starts to fester.

Any passing game that has Jones as the main component is going to be above average with regard to throwing the ball deep down the field, but the combination of Jones’ verticality and Agholor’s quickness underneath could make for a hellacious tandem.
