Patriots: ESPN drops trailer for epic Tom Brady docuseries

Despite the fact that we’re a full year removed from his decision to sign with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Tom Brady remains a focal talking point in New England.

For obvious reasons, the Patriots legend will always weasel his way into the Boston-area news cycle, but there’s no doubting it’s been more prominent than we’ve grown accustomed to.

After all, a recent report alleged that the Patriots’ locker room was obsessed with talking about Brady last year, which seems off base.

Getting beyond that, New England will also welcome the now-seven-time champion back to Gillette Stadium in Week 4 of next season.

Anybody ready for the latest tasty nugget? On Thursday morning, ESPN dropped a sneak peak into its nine-part docuseries, “The Man in the Arena,” which will be a first-hand account of the most iconic moments of Brady’s esteemed career.

ESPN also revealed a timeframe for the release date, confirming it’ll be available for streaming once the calendar turns to November.

"“After 21 seasons in the NFL, Tom Brady will share a personal first-hand account of his ten Super Bowl appearances,” ESPN wrote in a press release. “In a groundbreaking new series coming to ESPN+, Tom deconstructs the milestones of his legendary career, mining the psychological and emotional terrain of each victory and defeat.”“Each episode focuses on a single Super Bowl appearance and centers not just on the pivotal moments, but everything that leads to them, illustrating the series of small steps that seem insignificant at the time, but when reflected upon, show the distance traveled.”"

We hate to shift the conversation to basketball, but does anybody else get the feeling this will be Brady’s version of ESPN’s critically-acclaimed Michael Jordan docuseries, “The Last Dance,” that was released last summer? If it’s anything like that, Patriots fans are in for a real treat.

“The Man in the Arena” might not spend as much time on Brady’s teammates or the sheer controversy surrounding the Patriots (like their cheating scandals), as the Jordan doc really went into great detail about his teammates’ off-court issues and Chicago’s front office dysfunction, but it might be pretty darn close in terms of drama and overall entertainment.

Fans have always clamored for a look inside Brady’s competitive drive before big games and nothing figures to offer a better perspective on that than a personal account of his 10 career Super Bowl appearances.

Unfortunately for Patriots fans, that means Brady’s seventh title, which he won with the Buccaneers last season, will be included. However, that’s a small price to pay given a majority of the doc will focus on his nine SB appearances and the six rings he won with New England.

Though ESPN didn’t provide a hard date for the docuseries’ official release date, fans in Foxborough would be fully justified starting a countdown to November. After all, it’ll be just a month after Brady and the Bucs travel to New England on Oct. 3.
