2. Alabama IDL Christian Barmore is slipping

In a draft that’s painfully thin at the interior defensive line spot, Barmore stands out as one of the few genuine stars that the league should be able to rely on as a Day 1 starter and contributor for the next decade. WIth pass rush potential still to be realized and tremendous run-stuffing ability, Belichick’s Saban connection could get Barmore up north.

At least, it could’ve before a damning report came out that could end up ruining his draft stock. Barmore, per Bob McGinn of The Athletic (subscription required), has a “resistance to coaching and structure,” exacerbated by the fact that he was only on the field for a bit more than half of Alabama’s snaps.

Christian Barmore would’ve been good for the Patriots.

Barmore looks ideal for the Pats, but rolling with Davon Godchaux and addressing that position later looks like the move for Belichick, especially after this report.

If you aren’t willing to absorb and retain the knowledge bombs that Belichick is dropping, you won’t have a spot in New England, no matter how talented you are. Barmore might be an ideal schematic fit, but if these rumors are true, you might as well cross him off your hypothetical Patriots draft boards.
