No. 3: CB JC Jackson

Jackson might still be on the move due to the fluid nature of New England’s secondary, but he remains on the squad right now, and he should continue his ascension up the NFL’s cornerback totem pole considering how lethal he was next to Stephon Gilmore last season.

Jackson recorded six interceptions last year, and despite totaling 14 in three seasons since arriving in New England as an undrafted free agent, he has been largely bereft of praise from the national media or his peers in the league.

Patriots: JC Jackson could become a star.

Jackson is about a low-key as one can be at the flashy position of cornerback. An undrafted free agent without great athletic ability who went to a very rigid New England franchise, Jackson has been keeping his head down and grinding for the last few years, and it could finally start to pay off this season.

Even if Stephon Gilmore gets booted out of town, the New England secondary will be in very good hands with Jackson as the top dog. One of the best ballhawks in the league, Jackson should continue to cause turnovers at will. One more year of sustained production could be enough to finally get the voters interested in him and his style of play.
