Former New England Patriots icon Tom Brady never makes a frivolous joke. Every time he goofs around, the intent is for you to briefly laugh, then reevaluate the way your life has gone and realize Tom Brady has it better than you do.

Every. Single. Time.

Whether it’s ironically posting about the MLB career he could’ve had with the Expos or showing you a throwback photo before reminding you he just won the Super Bowl again after transforming his body, the subtext is always, “Can you believe I’m still here? Can you believe I turned out this great?”

In other words, every tweet might as well be, “I’m Tom Brady, and you’re not.”

On Friday, we were gifted with another Brady joke on the 21st anniversary of the New England Patriots selecting him in the first round — oh, sorry, it was actually the sixth round. 199th overall. Did you guys know that?

Well, Brady just reminded you while purchasing a legal Miller High Life for his own NFL tenure.

Former New England Patriots QB Tom Brady has been around…forever.

Do you think Brady’s NFL career prefers IPAs? Stouts? Based on the first Brady combine photo we ever saw, it seems like he might enjoy an entire keg of…anything, really.

The quarterback’s glow up remains extremely impressive, even if you’ve been inundated by Brady imagery for 20+ years and think you’re accustomed to his rise already.

Whether you liked it or not, his immediate success in Tampa, where he acquired all the same breaks along the road to the Super Bowl that he always seemed to experience in New England, was just more evidence that it’s always been something special about him specifically that’s dictated his story.

In reaction to this 21st “birthday” tweet, fans everywhere had a variation of the same question: teach us…?

Sorry, New England Patriots fans. It’s not you. It’s Tom.

Stay tuned for when Brady’s career can finally rent a car.
