No. 1: John Brown, WR, Buffalo Bills

While it’s easy to forget, Brown was one of the best wide receivers in the AFC in 2019, topping 1,000 yards receiving for the first time since the early stages of his career with the Arizona Cardinals. However, the cap crunch hit Buffalo hard, and they had to say goodbye to the Pittsburg State alum.

Wide receiver should be right near the top of New England’s priority list this offseason, and poaching Brown could be an easy way to get an influx of speed and experience on a unit lacking both of those things.

How can John Brown help the Patriots?

Brown’s production fell off this year, but injuries and the fact that Stefon Diggs became the primary option in the passing game contributed to that. While his potential homes for the next few seasons could be limited due to his sickle-cell trait likely ruling out high-altitude cities, New England looks almost ideal for him.

Brown has proven he is more than just a speed demon that can win a 100 meter dash, as he is a complete receiver that can run a full route tree and be a team’s featured wideout. Brown would be an instant shot in the arm for this offense, provided he managed to stay healthy.
