WR. LSU. Ja'Marr Chase. 3. player. 59. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis

2021 NFL Draft: Dolphins select an opt-out.

Eternal shoutout to the Houston Texans for allowing another top-tier talent to end up in the AFC East by trading their pick to help secure a quarterback who is now dead-set on leaving. Solid execution, brainiacs.

Ja’Marr Chase should be the first wide receiver off the board this year, despite DeVonta Smith taking home the literal Heisman trophy after a mind-bending season with Alabama. Remember when Philadelphia Eagles fans though they’d have a chance at this monster? Yeah, best of luck watching him burn in MIA.

New England’s best hope at withstanding and shrugging off this pick is the whole Tua Tagovailoa issue. Call a snap judgment what you will, but he didn’t look as prepared to handle the onrushing defense as Ryan Fitzpatrick was in 2020, and more concerning by far were his developmental flaws.

Perhaps Miami splurges for Deshaun Watson after the Texans embarrassingly relent, but pairing Chase with Tagovailoa could end up being another in a long line of “almost there!” gaffes.

player. 44. QB. 4. Ohio State. Justin Fields. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis

Justin Fields could go 28-3 over the next two seasons as Atlanta’s starter, and this pick still wouldn’t come close to undoing the damage the Patriots inflicted on this franchise.

We’ll tell Falcons fans to smile through the pain, though, because Fields will splash on occasion, and might show flashes of being this draft’s best quarterback.

Two years after UGA let him escape their clutches, the Peach State could easily welcome back the pocket passer.

And no, New England won’t consider trading up.
