Bill Belichick was heated while the Bills were dominating the Patriots.

The Patriots aren’t used to getting obliterated on Monday Night Football, but here we are. Look how far we’ve come. We’re about an hour away from the Pats clinching their first losing season since 2000, and Bill Belichick is steaming.

The Buffalo Bills, who already won the AFC East, are pounding New England in their quest to secure the No. 2 seed in the conference with the playoffs just a couple weeks away. They took a 24-9 lead into halftime and immediately shoved another touchdown down the Patriots’ defense’s throat to make it 31-9 early in the third quarter.

On that drive, Belichick challenged a ruling on the field that the Bills completed a 15-yard pass after getting a nod from the guys upstairs. Turns out, whoever rang Bill to tell him to throw the red flag is about to be canned after the game because the Patriots head coach smashed a phone shortly after learning the refs upheld the call.

“I spent a summer filming Subway commercials after losing all of my top players for this?! You guys can’t even properly dissect a slow motion replay?!”

The catch by Dawson Knox on the first play of the third quarter was fairly clear, but instead the Patriots wasted a timeout just seconds into the half. What a pleasant surprise; the replay review guys in the Patriots’ booth will join the offense, defense, special teams and coaching staff in terms of ineptitude on this awful night.

The real victim here? The technology.

Wait, maybe Belichick wasn’t mad about the challenge guy. Perhaps he finally saw or caught wind of the creepy cartoon ESPN aired earlier in the evening featuring him and Tom Brady, and was calling his agent to make sure it gets buried.

Or maybe everyone’s in trouble. Yeah, Bill’s going to have a lot of angry conversations after this one.
