It looks like Patriots QB Cam Newton may have hurt his arm on Sunday.

Cam Newton undoubtedly had one of his worst career games as a passer during the New England Patriots’ loss to the Denver Broncos on Sunday, but it wasn’t all his fault. Both of his interceptions were tipped, he was constantly pressured thanks to injuries along the offensive line, and his receivers did a whole lot of nothing to help him out.

On top of that, it appears as if he was injured on a hit in the middle of the game, which really affected his performance through the air from that point forward.

Newton finished just 17-of-25 for 157 yards and two picks, and James White, who hauled in eight passes for 65 yards, was his leading receiver. But here’s possible evidence to suggest the hit really ruined Newton’s afternoon.

It’s crazy to think that hit possibly injured Newton considering how hard he was brought to the turf multiple times in the first half. He was pressured excessively over the course of the first 30 minutes of the game and was sacked four times on the day. He also dove like a maniac for the ball after fumbling early in the third quarter!

We’ve yet to see an injury report for Week 7, but we’ll know more on Wednesday when the Pats release one. If Newton’s on it, then we’ll have our answer. If not, then it’s clear the Broncos simply managed to further stifle the Patriots’ offense as the game went on, especially after the injury to Jermaine Eluemunor forced more shifts along the O-line.

Then again, we can just chalk this up to a lack of practice. The defense, though it didn’t allow a touchdown, let the Broncos score on their first six drives of the game and couldn’t stop the run. The offense couldn’t establish the run, protect Newton, or find holes in the Broncos secondary.

Whatever the case, let’s just hope Newton isn’t injured.
