2. HaHa Clinton-Dix

We seriously have zero idea as to why the Dallas Cowboys parted ways with HaHa Clinton-Dix after making out like bandits earlier in the offseason when they initially signed him. The former first-round pick appeared in all 16 games for Chicago in 2019, posting 78 tackles, two interceptions (one of which was returned for a touchdown), and five passes defensed while playing a whopping 99% of the defensive snaps.

The Cowboys must be sneakily inquiring about Earl Thomas, because cutting bait with a projected starting safety with Week 1 right around the corner makes no sense. However, that shouldn’t bother the Patriots, who should be champing at the bit to pounce on Dallas’ blunder.

The absence of Patrick Chung, who opted out to prioritize the health and safety of his family instead of playing amid the COVID-19 pandemic, cannot be understated, and Clinton-Dix could be his like-for-like replacement.

That is, of course, if New England beats other teams to the punch.
