Patriots owner Robert Kraft was nothing but happy for Tom Brady when he left NE.

The relationship between Tom Brady and Patriots owner Robert Kraft doesn’t get discussed as much as it should when you consider the celebrity duo shares immense respect for one another. Therefore, it wasn’t at all surprising that the Brady visited the Kraft’s home back in March to inform him that he wouldn’t be re-signing with New England.

It’s been widely reported that the meeting was extremely emotional, and understandably so. The accomplishments — as well as the trials and tribulations — they encountered across two decades together prove they developed a close bond.

However, the spontaneous consultation apparently wasn’t enough time for Kraft to get everything off his chest. According to Jeff Benedict, former columnist for Sports Illustrated and author of “The Dynasty,” the 79-year-old owner sent a heartfelt text to Brady not long after their meeting ended.

This excerpt from the book will be extremely moving for fans in New England:

"“Alone in the doorway, Kraft waved as Brady’s taillights disappeared in the darkness,” Benedict wrote. “Thirty minutes later, sitting alone in his house, Kraft texted Brady: ‘Love you more than you know for being so classy in everything you do. Your parents should be so proud. I love them for creating you. You are truly one of a kind.'”"

To say that it’s difficult to put Kraft’s fondness of Brady into words would be an understatement, and we mean that with the utmost respect. It’s been well-documented over the last 20 years that the Patriots boss views Brady as a son, and the sheer heartbreak he felt after the three-time MVP confirmed that 2019 was his last season in NE confirms that.

Since Brady took over the reins at quarterback in 2000, he led the Patriots to 18 playoff appearances, 17 AFC East titles, six championships, and another three Super Bowl appearances.

What’s just as important, however, is the relationship he developed with Kraft along the way, and Patriots Nation shouldn’t forget that as Brady prepares for his first season with the Buccaneers.
