3. Jaguars taking foot off gas in 2018 AFC Championship Game

Could you imagine the ratings for the Super Bowl in 2018 had the Patriots been eliminated by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the AFC Championship Game? Just pondering that reality is enough to make us want to cringe.

For a long stretch, it appeared that was going to be the case, as New England was forced to rally from a 10-point deficit in the fourth quarter.

What made this comeback so damn great was that Brady put the team on his back while playing with 12 stitches on his throwing hand for a cut he suffered just days earlier at practice. After a subpar first three quarters, the three-time MVP turned it on in final frame and rallied the Patriots to a 24-20 victory over Jacksonville’s juggernaut defense.

When you consider that New England was almost bested by a team quarterbacked by the walking meme that is Blake Bortles, it’s really no wonder that the impressiveness of this game is an afterthought in terms of prominent Patriots playoff victories. But it was chock full of epic moments, from Myles Jack’s non-turnover TD to Danny Amendola’s playoff heroics (yet again).

With far too much time still left on the clock, Bortles and the Jags simply stopped playing. You can’t do that!
