2. 2019 AFC Championship Game

Brady’s performance at this stage of his career was legendary.

The majority of the conversation in the wake of this instant classic was Dee Ford’s indefensible offsides penalty that negated an interception that would have clinched the victory for the Chiefs and how the NFL’s rules didn’t allow Patrick Mahomes to get the ball in overtime after New England sealed the win.

What doesn’t get talked about enough is Brady’s performance down the stretch. The 14-time Pro Bowler drove the team 65 yards with less than 1:30 on the clock that set up Rex Burkhead’s go-ahead touchdown run with 39 seconds remaining in regulation. The Chiefs, of course, would drive down the field and set up the game-tying field goal.

We know how this one ended.

For the game, Brady completed 30 of 46 pass attempts for 348 yards and one touchdown. If not for the offsides call and beloved rising superstar Mahomes watching from the sidelines in OT, the then-41-year-old quarterback would have been credited for out-playing the NFL’s most high-powered offense to advance to the Super Bowl.
