Former Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski went through simulated childbirth on national television this week.

Hmm, perhaps there was a reason Bill Belichick didn’t push harder for a bigger trade package when Tom Brady demanded that Rob Gronkowski join him in Tampa.

And, hey, speaking of “push harder,” Gronk went through the simulated pain of childbirth on national television this week.

In an appearance on the over-the-top comedy gameshow “Game On!”, the ex-Patriot showed off his particular brand of brashness, and had to eat several of his words. When asked about whether he could handle the pain of giving birth, in front of Venus Williams, Gronk boldly claimed, “Of course! Broken MCL, four forearm surgeries, ankle surgery, four back surgeries…what’s a baby?”

While, “What’s a baby?” is a genuine question we’d expect from Gronk in any situation, the words rang out in this particular one as a challenge. Host Keegan Michael-Key then brought out the electrodes, and forced Gronk to endure a nasty simulation.

Every second of this clip is classic Gronk, if you turned his “boastfulness” rating up to 100, and his awareness down to a -1.

Maybe next time he’ll consider for more than 1.5 seconds before challenging Venus freaking Williams on the endurance that females have to have in order to go through such things?

All of this is wild, because we’ve definitely seen a  more mature Gronk this offseason prior to this incident. Right, Camille Kostek?

Well, so much for that!

Though we’re sure a Brady-Gronkowski reunion in Tampa will be suitably exciting, we can’t help but be happy for Bill Belichick here. While he absolutely had to manage countless Gronk foibles during the tight end’s decade in New England, he at least did not have to live through the professional wrestling era, or the era in which Ian Karmel gawked at him while he simulated the passage of “triplets” through his birth canal.

No, the Hoodie can sit this one out. No need to comment. He’s earned it.
