Patriots QB Cam Newton couldn’t be more motivated to return and take the NFL by storm.

When we said Cam Newton would be on a mission in 2020, we weren’t kidding. The New England Patriots signed him last week in what seemed like a long overdue move, and all the chatter has been about the former MVP being “disrespected” with a minuscule contract.

Newton has since responded to that, claiming, at this point, it’s about respect, not money. After all, the Carolina Panthers very much gave up on him because a few injuries were holding him back. Now, the dual-threat QB has a chance to capture a Super Bowl with Bill Belichick.

He wanted to let the world know that he’s now “tired of being humble” in an Instagram post from Sunday night. Not looking good for opposing defenses right now!

The whole “player in best shape of his life” thing is like beating a dead horse, but does Newton not look like he’s been incessantly working out for the past year? His body looks unbelievable in the numerous workout videos we’ve seen of him over the past few months.

And, uh, did he take a shot at Teddy Bridgewater at the beginning of the clip? Newton exclaims, “You’re going to choose that over this?! I’m a killer.” Perhaps he’s alluding to the Panthers letting him go in favor of signing Bridgewater to a three-year, $60 million deal, but we don’t know for sure.

The 2020 season will all be about Newton staying healthy and rediscovering his accuracy as a passer, which he struggled mightily with over the last two seasons (across just 16 total games, however). Belichick will certainly design packages to help alleviate any initial bumps in the road to help put Newton in the best position possible.

He faces a tough task next year considering the Patriots (finally) have the hardest schedule in the NFL, but if anyone is up for the challenge, it’s the new and improved Super Cam.
