Broncos at Patriots 2014 Wk 9: Sliding touchdown catch and punt return touchdown

Edelman had been an absolute thorn in the side of the Broncos in their recent matchups. In 2013, he had two touchdown catches in the regular season matchup and another touchdown catch in the postseason affair.

It was more of the same in 2014.

Edelman waited until the second quarter of the game to start tearing up the Denver defense. He caught a bullet from Tom Brady as he slid in the endzone for a touchdown, even as he was draped on the play by T.J Ward.

Later in the second quarter, Denver was punting and let the shifty punt returner go to work. Edelman got a few great blocks, made some nice moves to avoid the coverage team, and eventually outraced Britton Colquitt to the endzone for his fourth career punt return touchdown — a Patriot record.
