#5) New England vs. Denver (Week 12, 2013 season)

This was in the middle of Peyton Manning’s MVP season where he broke Brady’s record of 50 touchdown passes in a single season. It was Broncos versus Patriots, Manning versus Brady, and Wes Welker’s return to New England.

Manning came into New England and continued his hot streak by going up 24-0 by halftime. The Patriots looked dysfunctional, but it was Brady who threw them out of the 24-point hole by putting up 21 points going into the wind, another 10 points in the fourth quarter, and then after a late wave-off of a punt in overtime by Welker, it was the Broncos’ Tony Carter who accidentally touched the ball, allowing New England to recover and eventually win the game on a field goal.

It was also Brady who faced adversity once again, going up against the eventual MVP, and proving doubters wrong, once again. Scott Zolak, Patriots radio color commentator said at the time: “You can have your Manning, I’ll take my Brady.”

I agree.
