2nd Down: He isn’t going out by losing to a subpar 9-7 team

With all due respect to the Tennessee Titans, Tom Brady can’t end his New England Patriots career by losing on Wild Card weekend to the 9-7 Titans of all teams.

I didn’t know much about the team heading into the playoffs, but it was certainly a shock to see the Patriots lose in the playoffs — especially at home and in the first round. It is something that New England Patriots fans aren’t used to seeing, because they always have a good regular season, earn the first round bye, and then they go from there.

But this season was something different, as the offense struggled all season and you could see the frustration on Tom Brady’s face after every 3-and-out or turnover.

I am almost certain that he does not want to go out after a season like that because we all know that he is a perfectionist. And what better way to win then going out on top? Instead, I would think that he would pass the torch down to the next generation of quarterbacks like Patrick Mahomes, Jimmy Garoppolo, Lamar Jackson, Russel Wilson, Deshaun Watson, and Dak Prescott.
