3rd Down: Run the ball

The weather isn’t supposed to be good Saturday night in Foxboro, and that will make the passing game difficult – as if it isn’t hard enough already for New England.

Whenever the weather is poor, that usually means the offense will depend on the run. Luckily for the Patriots, they have three good running backs to rely on, all of whom have been effective running the ball recently. Last week, Sony Michel, Rex Burkhead, and James White together ran the ball for over 100 yards.

The line has been really good at run blocking lately, and they will need another good performance Saturday night. Although there will still be some passing plays called from the sideline, I would expect a run heavy offensive gameplan.
