3rd Down: Put the game away early, rest up for the playoffs

New England played behind all game and didn’t take the lead until the fourth quarter when James White scored to put them on top 24-20.

Coming into the game, several key players battled injuries, and some players have even missed time at one point or another during the season. If the Patriots had been able to put the Dolphins away early, they could’ve brought in their second and third-stringers to finish the game.

Instead, it was a dogfight all game between New England and Miami, so they couldn’t benefit from a head start to their potential bye week.
