The New England Patriots finished the 2019 NFL season 12-4 after they fell to their AFC East division rival the Miami Dolphins 27-24 Sunday afternoon.

The New England Patriots have had one of the most inconsistent seasons in recent memory… and it got worse after they lost to the Miami Dolphins at home on Sunday.

New England struggled all game on offense and even (surprisingly) on defense, making the Dolphins look like one of the NFL’s elite teams. The Pats had a chance to win the game at the end after taking a 24-20 victory, but the Dolphins drove down the field and scored a touchdown with less than 30 seconds to go in the fourth quarter.

The New England defense couldn’t seem to stop the Miami offense all game, so it was no coincidence that they gave up a last second touchdown to ultimately lose the game.

It was certainly a heartbreaking loss for the New England Patriots, and now the road to a potential seventh Super Bowl championship gets much more tougher with no bye week. Instead, the Patriots will be playing next Saturday during Wild Card Weekend against the Tennessee Titans.
