4th Down: Will Spygate 2.0 have an effect on the game?

Yet another controversy came up in New England this season as the Patriots were accused of taping the Cincinnati Bengals’ sideline last week against the Cleveland Browns.

The media blew up when this story broke in the beginning of the week, and it was all anyone could talk about… whether it was analysts who cover the team or the local radio hosts that talked about potential punishments to the team.

Next. Rumors - several Patriots coaches/staffers could be moving on. dark

In years past, this team has been very good at steering away from controversy – whether it was the original Spygate back in 2007, the Aaron Hernandez scandal that shook New England, or Deflategate heading into Super Bowl 49. I expect the same thing from the team this week, as they will focus solely on the Bengals and not this controversial topic.
