2nd Down: Quick start on offense

This is a must-win game for the New England Patriots, and they must come out guns blazing against the Kansas City Chiefs. The Pats have gotten off to slow starts numerous times this season where it’s taken the offense a while to get going. If they can have a long opening drive and put points on the board (preferably seven rather than three, again), then it can snowball into more points and keep the momentum on their side for the rest of the game.

Having a quick start on offense doesn’t necessarily mean to start the game by putting points on the board. It also means to start with a  quick pace, which has been a strength for the offense recently. They got going in Baltimore as a result of the hurry-up offense, and it has worked for them in the past as well.

New England dictating the pace of the game on offense will put the Chiefs on their heels and have Andy Reid struggling to figure out a solution to slow them down and put the ball in the reigning league MVP Patrick Mahomes’ hands.
