3rd Down: Defense can’t let Dak and Zeke expose them

The Cowboys entered this game with the top offense in the league, led by quarterback Dak Prescott and running back Ezekiel Elliott.

Yes, the defense did hold Dallas’ top offense to only nine points, and none of those points came at the hands of Prescott or Elliott. The Cowboys’ kicker Brett Maher was responsible for all of their points scored at Gillette Stadium after he converted three of four field goals in the elements.

In fact, Prescott had only 212 yards passing and finished with a QB rating of 64.2. Elliott, on the other hand, had a decent game with 86 yards on the ground, and with his longest run going for 12 yards.

Keeping both players off the scoreboard was certainly a win for the Patriots defense.
