2nd Down: Brady, trust the young kids… you may have to

As previously noted, both Sanu and Dorsett missed the game with injuries. There was hope throughout the week that they could suit up and play, but that didn’t come to fruition. So besides Julian Edelman, who would step up for the Patriots?

That answer came down to two rookies: N’Keal Harry and Jakobi Meyers. It was time for Tom Brady to finally put trust in these kids, as he didn’t have a choice to do anything else frankly.

Harry was targeted four times and had just one catch, but it went for a 10 yard touchdown that ultimately made all the difference in this game. The catch itself was a gorgeous back shoulder reception in which Harry was able to outmuscle and outmaneuver a Cowboys cornerback that was draped all over him.

Meyers had a better day, as he was targeted nine times and converted four catches for 74 yards. Both players stepped up when the offense needed it the most on Sunday. Now, they just have to be more consistent.
