1st Down: Can Isaiah Wynn be the answer on offense?

The New England Patriots finally received help on the offensive line with the return of second-year tackle Isaiah Wynn. He had been on IR with a toe injury but was activated this past week just in time for this game against Dallas.

And it came at just the perfect time, because the offense was pretty banged-up going into the game. Both of Tom Brady’s top targets (besides Julian Edelman), Mohammed Sanu and Phillip Dorsett, missed the game. That meant Brady had to find other targets to advance the chains, but with a struggling offensive line, he hasn’t been able to get the necessary time to throw the ball accurately for most of this season.

Despite being sacked twice by the Cowboys, Brady was still able to have a decent day throwing the ball. He also had no turnovers, and that is undeniably a positive sign for the offense.

Another area of the offense that has been struggling due to an inconsistent offensive line has been the running game. On Sunday, Sony Michel had his best game in quite some time, as he had 20 carries for 85 yards; his longest rush of the afternoon went for 17 yards.

Is Wynn the key to the struggling offense? Well, if the offense keeps playing at this pace, then it’ll be tough to deny the fact that he has played a key role in the turnaround down the stretch.
