1st Down: Containing Lamar Jackson is defense’s primary job

Lamar Jackson has been shredding opposing defenses all season long and Sunday night against the New England Patriots was no different. He went 17/23 for over 160 yards and a touchdown. He also rushed for about 70 yards and 2 touchdowns. The Boogeymen did not come to Baltimore as Jackson had his way with the defense. Bill Belichick had no answer for the mobile quarterback as he kept on coming at them and they couldn’t stop him.

If they could have stopped him or at least limited his damage to the defense, then the New England Patriots could have escaped Baltimore with a perfect record. In the end, it didn’t work out that way and now the Ravens have the confidence to beat New England when it comes in January.
