2nd Down: Is it time to use James White more?

When used more consistently in the offense, James White is one of the best players on the team.

If you don’t believe that statement, just go look at footage from Super Bowl 51. He is dangerous running the ball, as his small frame can fit through tight openings in the offensive line… but he is even more dangerous catching passes out of the backfield. He is a modern-day Kevin Faulk, but surprisingly he has not been used much this season.

With Sony Michel struggling to find a groove running the ball, it could be time to incorporate James White more into the offensive game plan. Especially in a game like this when the New England Patriots will be hitting the field without a full arsenal, they’ll need versatile do-it-all contributors like White if they hope to both move the ball consistently and put points up on the scoreboard all evening.
