4th Down: Defense… defense… defense…

There’s not much more that can be said about this defense. For lack of a better term, they have been utterly dominant. Whether it has been sacking the quarterback, intercepting passes, forcing fumbles, attacking the running game, or keeping the opposing offense out of the end zone, the New England Patriots defense is simply playing at a dominant level.

They rank first in every defensive category through five games this season, and the Giants offense is the next sacrificial lamb being served up on a silver platter… that is all you need to know.

Jamie Collins has been a stud on defense all season, leading the team in tackles and sacks. Veteran safety Devin McCourty is also having a great season as he leads the team (and the NFL) in interceptions with four. Other players like Kyle Van Noy, Stephon Gilmore, Jason McCourty, Chase Winovich, Jonathan Jones, and J.C. Jackson are just some of the other names that have played a key role for the New England Patriots defense so far in the 2019 NFL season.
