2nd Down: Get Sony Michel going

Second-year running back Sony Michel has really been the only player on offense who has struggled in all three of the New England Patriots’ games to open the season.

On Sunday that trend continued, as Michel just could not get started, even though he finished with 63 yards on 17 attempts. He did not reach the endzone for the second time this season, and it was a struggle to watch him try and make something happen during the snaps he was in on.

In fairness to Michel though, the offensive line was a big part of the Patriots’ run game struggles, too. Depleted by injuries and illness, the Pats’ O-line looked discombobulated trying to run-block on Sunday, as they could not seem to find a way to handle the defensive line of the Bills.

That said, the offensive line did a nice job protecting Brady all afternoon, as they did now allow Buffalo to register a sack of the GOAT.
