Antonio Brown accuser, NFL reportedly set to meet on Monday
According to several different reports, Britney Taylor – who has accused Antonio Brown of rape – is set to meet with the league office on Monday.
New England Patriots receiver Antonio Brown made the trip with the team down to South Beach, leading many to believe that he will indeed make his 2019 regular season debut with the defending champs on Sunday afternoon.
Meanwhile, according to Bleacher Report’s Timothy Rapp, Brown’s accuser in the civil lawsuit filed against him last Tuesday – ex-trainer Britney Taylor – also now plans to meet with the NFL on Monday to discuss her rape allegations against him.
Rapp cites reports from ESPN’s Josina Anderson and NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport in his own outline of how the next two days will supposedly play out in the latest chapter of Brown’s tumultuous offseason. He also claims that the league and commissioner Roger Goodell are hoping to “ramp up the investigation as quickly as possible, given the time element with games happening each week.”
Neither Brown nor any of his reps are expected to attend the meeting on Monday. It is, however, believed that he will have the opportunity at some point early this week as well to meet with the league and present his side of the story.
The league will then presumably make a decision as to what action, if any, they plan to take against Brown, based off the evidence they’ve collected and the testimony they’ve received from both parties during an official investigation. The NFL could choose to suspend Brown immediately, place him on the commissioner’s exempt list while the court process plays out, or do nothing at all, depending on what conclusions they come to this week.
Brown was accused of rape and sexual assault by Taylor in a public filing that made the news last Tuesday, just a day after he officially signed with the New England Patriots. It was only the latest controversy to follow the star wide receiver this past year, who has frequently been in the headlines for his bizarre antics and for feuding with Oakland Raiders management during the offseason.

The Patriots are hoping that Brown has put all of the drama and intrigue behind him, and is finally ready to just play football again. New England fans should get some sort of answer on that front, at least, if he plays significant snaps on Sunday against the Miami Dolphins.
